12 & 24 Hour Clock
Defining the difference between 12 & 24 hour clock
12 Hour Clock - the number ranges from 1 AM till 12 PM and 1 PM till 12 AM.
24 Hour Clock - the number ranges from 00:00 till 23:59.
Example: Outer line is the 12 hour format.
Inner line is the 24 hour format.
How to find time using a 24 hour clock.
Travel Graphs
Defining Travel Graphs
Travel Graph - are lines used to describe the motions of objects, the distance travelled is represented on the vertical axis and the time taken is represented on the horizontal axis.
Example:
How to do a travel graph:
Plot each point in your table on the graph by locating the distance measurement on the vertical axis and the time measurement on the horizontal axis. Draw a pair of perpendicular lines from each point, using a ruler, and make a cross with your pencil at the intersection point.
The gradient of the graph:
Gradient is another word for "slope". The higher the gradient of a graph at a point the steeper the line is at the point. A negative gradient means the line is downwards.
